What is a transfer box and how does it function?
A transfer box is an easy way to help a sailor transfer from their wheelchair, to the dock and then onto the sailboat.
Transfer boxes can be homemade, photos of the ones The Clagett uses can be seen below. In the photos below the transfer boxes are made from cast fiberglass and PVC pipes:
